CAHOKIA, Ill. (AP) - Voters in Cahokia, Centreville and Alorton will be asked in November to decide whether they want to merge their communities and become one city. Leaders cited severe population decline in each community as the reason for the merger. One larger city would help attract more federal funding to help pay for infrastructure, schools, public safety and other improvements.
